Getting the whole community involved in science
Our aim is to get the whole community involved in science, to break down barriers between scientific disciplines, and between research and popular science.

Through a range of talks, debates, workshops, school visits and shows we aim to bring science to the community, raise the profile of science in the region and establish a network of likeminded individuals.
Brief history of Peninsula Science
Peninsula Science grew out of a need to co-ordinate the evening lectures and educational activities activities of the partner organisations in Plymouth.
It then occurred to us that it was an ideal way of getting science information out to the people of the whole South West Peninsula. Currently, most events are based in Plymouth, however, we are developing a programme which will eventually encompass the whole region.
Who’s who
Peninsula Science is based at the University of Plymouth and is co-ordinated by Dr Hywel Evans.
